This Madeira cake mix produces cakes with a moist texture, fine close crumb and buttery taste. The mix has been specially formulated to suspend fruit and other inclusions well. A great mouthfeel and moisture level is retained throughout its shelf life.
Dawn Foods Madeira cake mix can be used not just for traditional Madeira cakes but to make genoa cakes, slab cakes, fairy cakes, slices and fondant fancies.
To make, mix 1kg of of Madeira cake mix with 350g of water on a slow speed then scrape down and mix for a further 3 minutes at a fast speed. Scrape down again and add a further 150g of water and any inclusions then mix for 2 minutes on a slow speed. Deposit into your choice of tin and bake for 55 minutes at 165 - 170 degrees.
