Macphie Red Velvet Cake Mix requires the addition of egg, oil and water to produce a range of indulgent cakes with striking red colour. This mix creates a red velvet cake with a light, moist crumb and a slight chocolate flavour. Perfect to create indulgent cupcakes, traybakes, muffins, round cakes, loaf cakes and whoopee pies.
To make, place 1kg of the Red Velvet Cake Mix in a mixing bowl with the paddle attachment fitted. Beat on slow speed for one minute, gradually adding 340g of whole egg, 280g of vegetable oil and 210kg of water. Scrape down and then beat for a further three minutes on middle speed followed by one minute on slow speed. Bake at 180 degrees (160 degrees in fan assisted ovens) for 40 - 50 minutes for cakes and 30 - 35 minutes for muffins.
