Have a frightfully spooky time this Halloween, with these spider cookies, they are simple and fun to make.
150g softened butter/margarine
Chocolate sweets (e.g. Rolos)
Add the prairie vanilla cookie base and the butter to a mixing bowl fitted with a beater and mix on slow speed for 3 minutes.
Add the water and continue to mix on slow speed until a soft dough has formed.
Form the dough into 30g pucks.
Bake in a rack oven at 150°C for 8-10 minutes.
Take some chocolate sweets (such as Rolos) and pipe 2 eyes onto each one using chocolate fudge icing and glossy vanilla icing.
Pipe a small spot of heated chocolate fudge icing onto the centre of each cookie and then place one of the decorated chocolates on top.
Finish off by piping the 8 legs onto the cookie using the heated chocolate fudge icing.
